Nine & Matt - Contemporary Gothic Elopement | Colorado Wedding Photographer

"We are like two giant kids and I love that our relationship is filled with laughter more than arguments" - Nina

I worked hard for this shoot. I had a vision and ran with it. We started planning months in advance and the outcome was beautiful. Tucked in the beautiful foothills of Manitou Springs, our woman's retreat took place. A photographers haven! Filled with lots of giggles, delicious food and even prettier views. Our contemporary rental gave us the opportunity to create. We were blessed with beautiful windows and a lot of natural light!

With the amazing help from the ever beautiful Paige Miller, we were able to bring our ideas to life. Rich colors, sultry purples and her talented airbrushing pulled the look together. Paige also owns The Travelling Trunk Co. a quaint, antique Photo Book Company!

We loved hearing about Nina and Matt and their dynamic as a couple. The sweet duo said their I DO's Six months prior but were wanting to relive the beautiful emotions they had the day of their wedding! With Hubby lounging among nature, we snuck some getting ready shots as he binged on hockey!

With the help of my sweet friend Laura, we were able to have 2 beautiful floral arrangements, boutineer, and headpiece. SHE IS A SAINT! As the owner of Lumme Creations her work is met with breath taking colors, simplistic but showstopping styles and creativity. I wanted a florist who could provide something different from the standard bouquet and we got just that!

Our location was extremely important. We wanted something earthy, and visually appealing! The mountains are my calling and I wanted to showcase just that! We found a beautiful church in Cascade tucked up on the foothils, the views behind though were breathtaking. We set both Nina and Matt up for a first look. These cuties were in shock and shared lots of smiles.

We then adventured westward to the beautiful town of Woodland Park where we perched ourselves 2,000 ft higher at Rampart Resevoir. We had Icy conditions but it made for beautiful photos. Not to mention showcased Pikes Peak, one of Colorado's 14ers [14,110 ft]. I applaud the ambition this group had! They stuck with it for about 30 minutes <3  We also did a dress change and got Nina into a beautiful custom made tulle skirt by Michelle Baker owner of Textile Therapy
